Thursday, July 24, 2014 – let the games begin.....

The Commonwealth Games have just begun in Scotland, the torch has been throughout the land and now rests in Glasgow! Wow!

To celebrate, we have chosen aubergine as our theme for this week's newsletter-to match the Scottish national emblem-the THISTLE!  Or at least, our nearest autumn colour-from our haze lace dress and jacket embellished with cornelli to our lace twinset , from our quirky knit cardi and matching jumper to our delightful jersey dress with exquisite shoulder line, this colour will stand out this autumn at chesca--and although, most are only available on line and Glasgow at present, we hope we might tempt you to pop one or two in your wardrobe ready for the season ahead.  Not quite ready to be head to toe in Aubergine-try our lovely jersey cardi in shades of aubergine -and team with our classic-zip pocket aubergine trousers and sleeveless top.

All remind us of the Commonwealth Games-and this range will be in our boutique in House of Fraser, Glasgow next week-to honour hosting the Games, a great opportunity while you are there to see this stunning range, not in store until September.

Can't bear to think of autumn, while the sun is beaming, try a top which is embellished with its own silver necklace-in white-or deep pink-or -you guessed it- aubergine.   This sparkling necklace is attached to a silky jersey top which flatters your curves

Next week, we introduce a feminine floral print mesh dress which is seamed throughout to flatter, which picks up our Commonwealth theme combining pink and grey with aubergine- look out for this-we expect it will sell out quickly i this run of sunshine continues- our brill idea to suit summer days and autumn parties.  Just wait and see....

Sunday, July 13, 2014 – Football Fans?

Hi

Well, its over! No longer the talk of every get-together, we can all heave a sigh of relief, congratulate Germany and move on to our passion for fashion! Went to Scoop this weekend, a fashion show at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea. A sea of neutrals for next Summer in khaki, ivory and sand-desert colours predominate, with a taste of tomato peeking out, in quirky, asymmetrical designs. Stripes are played with, chevrons, knits and woven combined with loose shaped tops, full mesh skirts and graceful palazzos--although never combine the two I would suggest if your figure is veering on the voluptuous.

What of the season ahead, you ask? Well jersey is our favourite fabric from desk to dinner-soft and flattering, combining prints and plains--with a generous bow to crinkled pleating, perfect for your Summer holiday packing and quite subtle to match an evening sea! Neutrals in the guise of grey, navy, minks, and ivory dominate the Autumn collection, but each month we add an accent colour. The range for Autumn, as usual, features separates that build on the previous season-a pink and black pleat two piece, a pleated skirt, a black patchwork crinkle coat and camisole, all fit into your seasonal wardrobe giving it this Autumn's lift. But, dresses dominate at the start of the season-so easy to slip into-with ballet pumps early and ankle boots a little later. Much more flattering than football kit.....

Our web has now been changed to our latest beaded dress in pink -or mink- with gunmetal beading and more than a hint of moorish design. Perhaps you will recognise the Taj by night--not quite moorish, but beautifully carved, and curved, like our stylish curvy chesca women, who ooze glamour and confidence.

Saturday, July 05, 2014 – Tour de France, Wimbledon, Warwick

We haven't entered the Tour de France, nor are we in the semi-finals of the World Cup or Wimbledon, but c h e s c a is proud that we have won a county wide competition, for the following reasons:

Customers willingly travel miles to pay a visit to c h e s c a, a fashion boutique in Leamington Spa. The care and attention offered to each client is mentioned time and time again with one nominee recalling that refreshments were offered to the entire party on one trip to the store, including their pet spaniel. They also offer gift vouchers to BID Leamington and take part in fashion shows to Myton Hospice, supporting the local community, as well as those who shop there.

Congratulation to Manageress Lesley, aided by her amazing colleague, Elizabeth, who collected their award at the dinner held last night. They enjoyed themselves enormously and were absolutely thrilled to be voted the winners in the CUSTOMER CARE category. Heroines, like all our members of staff throughout the country who play a special part in great occasions like the Races, Queen's Garden party, and weddings and other Gala Dinners, in giving our customers confidence and elegance at their special events.

Whether a pink linen dress for holidays, a neat shift for Ascot, a long black dress for the Captain's Table on that voyage of a lifetime, or even a wedding dress, second time around, c h e s c a pops up at all events to fit and flatter all sizes from 12-24. Certainly not a plus size , but a glamorous outfit designed to give Red Carpet style and glamour from power breakfast to the Oscars in Hollywood. (now thats a surprise, but we are too modest to name names!)

My thanks to all in the shops , mail order and internet, where we try to add a special touch to make shopping a pleasure and an event in itself.

Friday, June 20, 2014 – Dawn French, spotted by our avid newsreader

Just caught sight of our favourite model wearing c h e s c a in the Daily Mail-the fabulously funny Dawn French. Wearing our cowl neck shift with opal sequin print collar, she always is a credit to us for every occasion. This jersey dress is stylish and comfortable, and oh-so-flattering.

Our stunning pink chiffon dress and jacket was spotted at Ladies' Day at Royal Ascot, a welcome change from the short sharp shift which is the uniform for Races. A touch of sparkle on her hat and dress, this really flatters the curves -a new idea for the Duchess of Cambridge?
Also seen at Ascot , our unique rose feather hat, a concoction of feathers in the shape of a rose-- the lady who sent the pic in says she had dozes of compliments on the day in our exclusive headgear- if you have a Summer wedding to go to how about one of these as an investment?

Monday, June 16, 2014 – Silver Lining - As seen on BBC1 Breakfast TV

The BBC1 breakfast TV show started my morning with an unexpected surprise, in the form of a radiant looking bride being interviewed wearing her bridal dress -and matching hat- from chesca! The programme was about later marriages but this bride looks so youthful  for this very special ocassion. We wish the happy couple  the best of luck  and thank her for choosing the Silver Grey  chiffon dress with Cream & Ivory Embroidery and hope she will choose chesca for the ocassions ahead.

Sunday, June 08, 2014 – Ink will make you Wink!

We are just about to launch a brand new range, not quite navy, not quite green, nor even blue, but ink! There is a flower print jersey 3-piece, with gorgeous blue flowers scattered on an ivory background, crafted into the most flattering dress and jacket with plain navy contrast. There is even a top in the same print and all 3 are trimmed with navy bands, a lovely inky navy which is also designed into a beautiful flattering gored skirt.

Maybe you would prefer our lovely lace top-the lace is pleated into a flattering v neck with beaded sleeves-and of course, there is a matching crinkle satin jacket with lace inserted into it. This jacket matches the top, but also a crinkle satin dress with lace insert in the skirt. All start their journey to the stores on our website.

A lovely lined stripey georgette jacket, with a frill collar - I am so looking forward to owning one, maybe with a short sleeved v neck top in georgette in the same shadow stripe. Blues and blacks dance on ivory crinkled georgette, making the two piece match every colour-pop it into your wardrobe and match with blue, black, grey, ivory, red--any colour?

More info to come over our latest jersey cardigan-in 3 colours, the first of which is blues, greys and navy-a lovely smudgey mixtures of colours. Fab once the Autumn days come into play so keeping this one on web only, until August.

More to tell you about the last of the Summer wine next week--lace is the key!

Friday, May 09, 2014 – Gale Force!

Weather forecast for the weekend seems unseasonably bleak, with ominous forecasts of rain, swirly gales from the Atlantic, hitting the whole of the British Isles from West to East. Hard to imagine after last weekend's bout of sunshine, but the last few days have been chilly and wet.

Great for the garden, but not so good for us-so this weekend, a topical offer for some rainwear, which we have in stock in our local warehouse and about to be sorted , labelled and reorganised for Autumn. Have you seen our newsletter-Peter has done an amazing job of illustrating the necessary wear for our green-about to be greener-and pleasant land.

UP TO 30% OFF Rain City Chic- Offer only includes items on the Rain City Chic Page. Offer ends 13.05.14. If you missed out on this great offer then please sign up to our newsletter so you can be the first to know about the latest new arrivals, special events and promotions.

Have you looked at our Resort Wear section, where we have linen dresses in gorgeous technicolor floribunda-do have a look for brighter days to follow, our longer dress went into our Chichester and Marlow shops last week (yes, i know, they have not been released to our other stores, but will be shortly) and sold out, so suggest you buy soon--just in case you aren't able to buy for that sunny spell forecast for the end of May. Where would we be without our Summer weather extremes, the perfect Summer outfit of dress with raincoat!

chesca means gorgeous looks for curvy girls!
