Tonight is the night for the oscars, when HOLLYWOOD dresses up for the glittering prizes. Wear long, and turn heads in our one shoulder navy velvet jacquard dress or our red panel jersey dress with lace sides. Try our long ebony jersey dress with knot front and sparkle shoulders, or the black column dress with a lace and bead bodice.
Prefer a short svelte shape -try our lace tiered dress in navy, silver or taupe. or a navy mesh with sparkle at neck and shoulder. An opal lace shift or a royal blue broderie with scalloped neckline.
Ultra glam with a marabou shawl or a diaphonous chiffon shaped cape-ensure the paparazzi take that pic!
Put on that lippie, your chesca dress and ensure you take the top prize this evening.
A collection inspired by stately homes , Downton Abbey, My Fair Lady , "Mr. Selfridge" and a romantic Edwardian era. long gone by but not forgotten. Feminine silk mix dresses with matching jackets in prints which bloom as dusk draws in. Tiny spots and broderie anglaise combine on flattering pleated co-ords, and next week, royal blue butterflies float on cool silk in the most eye-turning three piece. I am reminded of the races, with cute little feather trimmed hats and matching suede and leather pumps-special wide fitting collection with gold toe-caps and heels.
Navy lace faux wrap dress has 3/4 sleeves and a little twinkle for a lovely lady like knee length dress--or for the grandest entrance, look out for our twinkly stretch lace evening dress with low back and fishtail skirt. Perfect for your entrance to the Oscars.Picked a sleeveless dress, look out for our navy "sleeves" designed to wear underneath that sleeveless shift, for a filmy cover to that perrenial problem -the underarm bulge, not very flatteringly called "bingo wings", or try our amazing chiffon cape in best selling colour, navy but also available in silver grey, ivory or black, shaped to add a flattering cover to add a touch of seduction.
Our vintage range will join our watercolour range ,launched last week into store-a diverse cornucopia of opal poppies, lace and jersey/
CHESCA WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL ITS CUSTOMERS, NEW AND OLD, A HAPPY, HEALTHY AND GLAMOUROUS NEW YEAR.
May I thank all our customers , new and old, for their confidence in us to provide gorgeous fashions for every occasion.
Jacqui and the team.
Hi, chesca had its first spring photoshoot today and looking at Zoe reminded me to bang the drum about
my pet problem--style is associated with attitude not with size or age. Their are young grandmothers,
full of zest, looking better for being bonny, rather than stiletto slim, and old teenagers,
bored and lethargic.
Only this week, someone asked me what is the average age of the chesca customer and I said that I honestly did not know, nor did it hold any particular interest for me when I sign off the dresses and outfits. Are the clothes flattering, are they feminine, are they fun? these are the questions i ask as we put the final full stop on each item--are they desirable, will i feel special wearing them-and will the many many ladies I meet during the week. and size? Americans call the sizes we make, women's sizes. Need I say more?
A woman is not a size or an age, but someone who wishes her clothes to convey her personality, the occasion, her sensuality-her mood, or should I say, her many moods. chesca is not about being fat or slim, or young or old, but about the opportunity to choose your style (regardless of size)-and accepting the compliments gracefully.
This is reflected in the different styles of our different models, who are not defined by age or size. All of them wear dresses, which reflect the different styles of real women, who have attitude and style. Have a look at the different faces of woman, and the different faces of chesca-and work out which is your favourite. A dress for desk to dinner (American expression), one for cocktails and holidays, one for that wedding when you wish to feel like Royalty, Ascot and a perfect Red Carpet headturner -for the belle of the ball! and , look at the varieties of little black dress!!!!!!!!
This week I visited our newest store in Marlow to support the local Christmas market. I was immediately filled with Christmas spirit as the scrumptious smell of mice pies and the sound of carol singers filled the air. The streets were brimming with happy families looking for stocking fillers while enjoying a tipple of mulled wine.
By the time I got to the new store we all had beaming grins on our faces, ready to spread Christmas cheer. This is the first time I had seen the new shop so I was excited to pitch in, adjusting displays and adding Christmas flare.
The store manager in Marlow was a lot of fun to meet. She was looking oh so sophisticated in our aboriginal top and shrug, while charismatically looking after every customer that came in with a friendly approachability that had everyone laughing and joking together.
I had the best job of the day! Greeting customers with bubbly and a selection of nibbles AND our chocolate raffle. We wrapped raffle tickets around sweets, so every customer could enjoy a treat even if they didn’t win a voucher.
